North East Minaret Project 80% complete


In the midst of the ongoing engineering and services projects being conducted by the Kadhimain Holy Shrine, and its efforts to maintain the architectural features, as well as preserve their structural and heritage fabric.
Under the guidance of the KHS Secretary-General, Dr. Haider H. Al-Shammari, the KHS Engineering & Technical staff continues to work on the North East Minaret Project, in cooperation with Kauther Organization for Reconstruction of Holy Shrines.
Supervision and Execution Unit Director, Eng. Mahdi Majeed, stated to our website about these efforts, saying: following the completion of the construction treatment and maintenance in the minaret structure, the technical staff continues the process of gilding, cladding, and installing tiles of different sizes and shapes with pinpoint accuracy, in accordance with the designs already approved. The electronic coating will be applied with special care to avoid damaging the archeological elements of the minaret façade, where more than 80% of the project is completed.
He continued, "Other technical work for the technical systems is carried out by the supporting parts, which are: the Mechanical Engineering Section, Electrical Engineering Section, IT Section, Electronic Monitoring and Control Section, Audio Unit, Carpentry and Aluminum Unit, and Works Unit.
He also affirmed that the project is proceeding as scheduled in accordance with engineering and technical standards and that it is expected to be completed within the next three months.
