In view of the developments that the Kadhimain Holy Shrine witnesses in its architectural and services projects and seeking to upgrade the power system with self-efforts and the potentials of the engineering and technical staff of the electricity section of the Electro-Mechanics Dept., the power feeder station of the Holy Tomb and the wall surrounding the Holy Shrine has been rehabilitated.

On the importance of this project, Eng. Dhiyaa Abdulameer, the head of the Electro-Mechanics Dept. said: “The Secretariat General of the Holy Shrine paid great attention to the development of the power system with the increase of the projects and other facilities. A work plan has been drawn up including upgrading the first and eldest power station in the Holy Shrine, namely: Rahma Gate Station which is considered the main station which feeds the tomb building, the galleries and the surrounding wall”.

He confirmed that the power feeder station rehabilitation project is very essential and will supply power without interruptions. Some old accessories and materials from the 1960s have been removed and replaced with new ones. We started with the first stage including planning for new tunnels to lay out the main high tension cables and rebuilding new systematic passages. In the second stage, new Siemens high & low tension breakers were added. The project will meet a great need for electricity in the Holy Shrine and will be accomplished in record time.
